About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plans, directs, and monitors project(s) to ensure work scope, schedule, and budget are maintained
  • Responsible for the project level profit and loss
  • Defines, generates, and reviews project management related material
  • Ensures that all required resources such as engineering, manpower, production, and facilities are available for the program
  • Works closely with the assigned project staff to ensure adequate direction is provided regarding budgeting and execution of program
  • Works closely with the assigned project staff to ensure all program deliverables are met satisfactorily
  • Works closely with VTS management to ensure that all program risks and issues are identified early and proactively elevated and properly acted upon
  • Serves as primary customer contact for project information
  • Pursues follow-on and new business opportunities directly with customers
  • Ensure adherence to all internal Program Management processes
  • Participate in customer meetings, peer reviews, and problem-solving meetings
  • Input into creation of proposals for follow-on work
  • Other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of program management experience which include five (5) year of managing DOD propulsion related programs
  • Experience managing department of defense (DoD) programs for the U.S. Government
  • Prior responsibilities directly related to generating, managing, and owning Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), Integrated Master Plans (IMS), and Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)
  • Direct experience in managing large Subcontracts
  • Experience briefing executive management and customers on program status, risks, and future plans
  • Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in engineering or business from an accredited university/college
  • Must have ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship)
