About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide a broad range of corporate legal advice to the enterprise on periodic reporting, transactional, executive compensation, financing, regulatory, and governance matters.
  • Support SEC and other regulatory reporting for Voya’s public holding company and insurance companies, including SEC Exchange Act filings.
  • Support the Strategy team in merger and acquisition transactions.
  • Support the Treasury team in various types of financing transactions.
  • Support the Executive Compensation team.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to various enterprise functions, including Treasury, Executive Compensation, Strategy, Financial Planning and Analysis, Governance, Risk, Investor Relations and other teams.
  • Provide support and guidance, as needed, to Voya’s corporate governance team on corporate governance matters, both at the parent and the insurance company level.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree and Juris Doctor Degree from an accredited law school;
  • Member of the bar in good standing in at least one jurisdiction;
  • 6-12 years of experience with a broad range of corporate law matters, either in a large, national law firm or in-house setting;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the federal securities laws;
  • Experience in financial and merger and acquisition transactional matters;
  • Strong relationship management skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization and to work either independently or as a team member;
  • Reliable, self-starter, detail-oriented, well-organized, and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
