About the role
- Design, implement, and optimize infrastructure for availability, scalability, and cost efficiency
- Build and maintain self-serve tooling for developers (local environments, service creation, architecture design, infrastructure deployment)
- Take ownership of automation for infrastructure and deployment tasks (e.g., Terraform, Terragrunt, Kubernetes)
- Lead FinOps initiatives, developing tools and insights to optimize cloud costs
- Improve developer experience, enabling rapid iteration with better local dev setups, fast build/deploy cycles, and efficient squad environments
- Analyze performance bottlenecks and work on solutions such as scaling strategies, service optimizations, and system debugging
- Work hand-in-hand with development squads, providing support, guidance, and infrastructure improvements tailored to their needs
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes
- Experience with high traffic, distributed systems architectures, and related tools (service discovery, config/secret management, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of one Cloud provider (AWS or GCP preferred)
- Ownership-driven – If something isn’t working, you don’t wait for instructions; you improve it
- Self-serve & platform engineering approach – You create tools that empower developers, not dependencies
- Balance between pragmatism and long-term vision – You iterate fast while keeping scalability in mind
