Quality Engineer
Volvo CarsQuality Engineer responsible for ensuring product quality during launches at Volvo's new electric car factory. Engage in FMEA, VBE, and implement Quality Operating System procedures.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Participate in FMEA, Virtual Build Event (VBE) and Value Stream Mapping (VSM) during new product introductions to identify and address potential issues as early as possible.
- Support production in implementing the Plant Control Plan (PCP) and lead the layer audits of the PCP.
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining procedures, methods and tools of the Quality Operating System (QOS) within production areas.
- Coach and support the shop floor in hands-on problem solving for preventive and corrective quality actions in production.
- Rapidly implement containment measures, perform data-driven root-cause analyses and verify permanent corrective actions, and document and share lessons learned.
- Execute/audit the implementation of the control plan; ensure feedback to ME (update FMEA/PII where applicable).
Requirements
What you’ll need- University degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering/Mechatronics, Automation, Materials Science or equivalent experience
- Experience in the automotive industry or similar manufacturing environment preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and analytical, data-driven, solution-focused thinking
- Fluent in Slovak and English, both spoken and written
- Passion for quality and action-oriented problem solving, with proven structured and advanced problem-solving skills
- You want to serve as a role model in applying the Volvo culture and behaviors
