About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Responsible for the repair and maintenance of assigned programs as needed
  • Assuring quality service in a safe, non-judgmental manner to all program participants
  • Responsible for preventive maintenance of building heating/air conditioning units
  • Maintain plumbing and electrical services to be in good working order
  • Conduct required inspections of heating/cooling systems and smoke detectors as needed
  • Document and report all resident and staff concerns and/or infractions
  • Assist the Program Manager in the training of new employees as requested

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Demonstrated ability to perform plumbing, electrical, and basic carpentry skills
  • General knowledge of issues and challenges unique to homelessness, substance abuse, young adults, minorities, and people with disabilities
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours
  • Willingness to function as a team member
  • Computer skills required
  • Valid California driver's license and ability to meet the organization’s insurance carrier guidelines
  • Must pass all required background clearances
  • CPR/First Aid certification is required within 90 days of employment
