About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Responsible for the repair and maintenance of assigned programs as needed
Assuring quality service in a safe, non-judgmental manner to all program participants
Responsible for preventive maintenance of building heating/air conditioning units
Maintain plumbing and electrical services to be in good working order
Conduct required inspections of heating/cooling systems and smoke detectors as needed
Document and report all resident and staff concerns and/or infractions
Assist the Program Manager in the training of new employees as requested

Requirements

What you’ll need

Demonstrated ability to perform plumbing, electrical, and basic carpentry skills
General knowledge of issues and challenges unique to homelessness, substance abuse, young adults, minorities, and people with disabilities
Flexibility to work irregular hours
Willingness to function as a team member
Computer skills required
Valid California driver's license and ability to meet the organization’s insurance carrier guidelines
Must pass all required background clearances
CPR/First Aid certification is required within 90 days of employment
