About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responsible for the repair and maintenance of assigned programs as needed
- Assuring quality service in a safe, non-judgmental manner to all program participants
- Responsible for preventive maintenance of building heating/air conditioning units
- Maintain plumbing and electrical services to be in good working order
- Conduct required inspections of heating/cooling systems and smoke detectors as needed
- Document and report all resident and staff concerns and/or infractions
- Assist the Program Manager in the training of new employees as requested
Requirements
What you’ll need- Demonstrated ability to perform plumbing, electrical, and basic carpentry skills
- General knowledge of issues and challenges unique to homelessness, substance abuse, young adults, minorities, and people with disabilities
- Flexibility to work irregular hours
- Willingness to function as a team member
- Computer skills required
- Valid California driver's license and ability to meet the organization’s insurance carrier guidelines
- Must pass all required background clearances
- CPR/First Aid certification is required within 90 days of employment
