About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

responsible for the repair and maintenance of assigned programs as needed
assuring quality service in a safe, non-judgmental manner to all program participants
preventive maintenance of building heating/air conditioning units
maintenance of interior/exterior common areas
renovating apartments for new residents
repairing apartment deficiencies as they occur
general inspection of building perimeter and facility grounds
conduct required inspections of heating/cooling systems and smoke detectors as needed
maintain adequate lighting for interior and exterior of property
make recommendations to Program Manager on necessary maintenance repairs and property improvements

Requirements

What you’ll need

demonstrated ability to perform plumbing, electrical, and basic carpentry skills
communicate and comprehend oral and written instructions
general knowledge of issues and challenges unique to homelessness, substance abuse, young adults, minorities, and people with disabilities
flexibility to work irregular hours
willingness to function as a team member
computer skills
valid California driver's license
CPR/First Aid certification required within 90 days of employment
completion and maintenance of all required training and health clearances
