About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and implement financial strategies, goals, and objectives aligned with the organization’s mission.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and long-range financial planning efforts.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making.
- Oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Oversee the financial aspects of grant and contract administration.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO, Board of Directors, and senior leadership team.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressively responsible experience in financial management.
- At least 3-5 years in a senior leadership role within a nonprofit organization.
- Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with grant and contract management, including federal grants and private foundation funding.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team.
- A valid California Driver’s License is required.
