About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Oversee preventive maintenance of building heating/air conditioning units
Maintain interior/exterior common areas and renovate apartments for new residents
Ensure plumbing and electrical services are in good working order
Conduct regular inspections of heating/cooling systems and smoke detectors
Manage inventory control and utilize maintenance equipment and supplies
Document and report all resident concerns and/or infractions
Assist with training and development of new staff

Requirements

What you’ll need

At least one year of experience in building maintenance
Demonstrated ability to perform plumbing, electrical, and basic carpentry skills
Ability to communicate and comprehend oral and written instructions
General knowledge of issues and challenges unique to lower economic-status individuals, minorities, and people with disabilities
Organizational skills and flexibility to work irregular hours
Valid California driver's license and ability to meet the organization’s insurance carrier guidelines
CPR/First Aid certification required within 90 days of employment
Completion and maintenance of all required training and health clearances
