Key responsibilities & impact

responsible for preventive maintenance of building heating/air conditioning units
maintenance of interior/exterior common areas
renovating apartments for new residents
repairing apartment deficiencies as they occur
general inspection of building perimeter and facility grounds
keep plumbing and electrical services maintained
conduct required inspections of heating/cooling systems
responsible for inventory control and utilization of maintenance equipment and supplies
maintain accurate records regarding preventive maintenance
schedule maintenance on all equipment based on manufacturer’s recommendations

Requirements

What you’ll need

demonstrated ability to perform plumbing, electrical, and basic carpentry skills
communicate and comprehend oral and written instructions
provide services to clients without ethnic or social prejudices
general knowledge of issues and challenges unique to homelessness, substance abuse, young adults, minorities, and people with disabilities
flexibility to work irregular hours
willingness to function as a team member
valid California driver's license
ability to meet the organization’s insurance carrier guidelines
pass all required background clearances
CPR/First Aid certification is required within 90 days of employment
