About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • assure quality service in a safe, non-judgmental manner to all clients, visitors, and employees
  • clerical support to the Community Administrator
  • provide professional direction and guidance to residents, visitors, and staff
  • greet the public and provide assistance to all walk-in visitors
  • receive all incoming calls, answer client, visitor, and staff questions, and direct calls as needed
  • order, distribute and maintain an office supply inventory
  • open and distribute mail
  • maintain maintenance contracts and schedule repair of office machines
  • process applications, certifications, and recertification, complete lease packets, calculate rent
  • responsible for collection of rents from property residents
  • maintain resident and property files and waiting lists
  • assist with other projects as assigned by Community Administrator
  • prepare and maintain resident files
  • enter and record accounts payable invoices
  • make flight and hotel reservations
  • create spreadsheets and reports as requested
  • copy, fax, and distribute documents for Community Administrator
  • attend staff meetings/assigned training and complete required certifications

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • demonstrated ability to communicate and comprehend oral and written instructions
  • general knowledge of issues and challenges unique to seniors and persons with disabilities
  • minimum of a high school degree
  • one year of apartment management experience preferred
  • knowledge of Fair Housing Laws preferred
  • state landlord/tenant rights and obligations preferred
  • Certified Occupancy Professional, CMH designation, and or tax credit certification preferred
  • proficiency with computers, especially data entry using Excel and Word Processing
  • record keeping skills
  • mathematical comprehension
  • good written and verbal communication skills
