Key responsibilities & impact
  • Responsible for leading the organization’s housing growth, public and private-sector partnerships, and community development strategy across California and Nevada
  • Bring deep expertise in housing policy, public and private funding systems, regional planning, and homelessness response
  • Shape housing solutions that move individuals and families from homelessness to long-term stability
  • Advance VOA’s mission and strategic plan by expanding access to permanent supportive and affordable housing
  • Strengthen public and private funding pipelines
  • Enhance VOA’s leadership role within regional homelessness systems
  • Drive long-term housing and community development solutions at scale

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • A minimum of 10 years of leadership in housing, community development, or homelessness systems
  • Demonstrated experience working with federal housing programs, state housing and community development agencies, and local governments, and housing authorities
  • Direct involvement in development or deployment of housing funding programs preferred
  • Experience working with government and nonprofit sectors preferred
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to meet the organization’s insurance carrier guidelines are required
  • Must have a reliable vehicle for work use (mileage will be reimbursed)
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel is required
  • Must undergo a criminal background check
