About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop cloud architecture for IoT systems
- Develop IoT fleet management solutions
- Improve and advance device firmware
- Address all technology aspects of Voltus’ IoT infrastructure, including device software and firmware, cloud infrastructure, fleet management, and remote connectivity solutions
- Maintain uptime and quality for the fleet of devices
- Develop device hardware and firmware
- Implement remote software updates
- Build cloud architecture to receive data from and manage thousands of devices
- Develop and maintain fleet management solutions
- Engage with customers, field support teams, and manufacturing and assembly teams to identify improvement opportunities
- Work cross-functionally with customers, internal stakeholders, and the development team
- Contribute knowledge and skills in agile methodologies
- Participate in an open, collaborative, and psychologically-safe engineering culture
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience, in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
- Minimum of 8 years of experience as a code-contributing engineer
- Experience building production systems in Python, Go, or a similar high-level language
- Experience using AWS and Postgres or a similar RDBMS
- Knowledge of and proven skills with Linux-based systems
- Basic knowledge of and interest in electronics and electrical systems such as Raspberry Pi or Arduino-style technologies
- Authorization to work in the US or Canada without sponsorship
- GitHub account link required in the application; applications without a GitHub account will not be considered
- Strong foundational programming skills and significant depth in some core technologies
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
