About the role
- Overseeing mineral, leasehold, and surface title review
- Reviewing and approving runsheets, ownership reports, and curative plans
- Identifying mineral risk (severances, pooling, allocation wells, depth limitations, active production)
- Evaluating leasehold positions, assignments, and burden calculations
- Managing and mentoring title examiners
- Communicating directly with developers, land teams, attorneys, and operators
- Ensuring compliance with project-specific title guidelines
- Improving title processes and turnaround efficiency
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of hands-on title experience
- Strong mineral title competency (Texas experience preferred)
- Deep understanding of leasehold and surface estate interaction
- Ability to interpret probate, trust, and complex vesting issues
- Established industry network and professional credibility
- Proven leadership and decision-making ability
- High attention to detail and strong written communication
