About the role

  • Data Collection: Acquiring data from various sources such as internal databases, APIs, CSV files, or web scraping;
  • Data Cleaning and Preprocessing: Handling missing values, correcting inconsistent data, normalizing values, and standardizing formats;
  • Data Exploration and Analysis: Applying statistical techniques and data visualizations to identify patterns, perform descriptive and exploratory analyses, and formulate hypotheses;
  • Model Development and Training: Developing predictive models, machine learning algorithms, or AI techniques to solve business problems; selecting appropriate algorithms, tuning hyperparameters, and training models on data;
  • Model Evaluation and Validation: Assessing performance metrics such as precision, recall, and accuracy, and validating models according to defined requirements;
  • Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitoring model performance, tracking changes in input data, and performing periodic adjustments and updates as needed;
  • Communication and Presentation of Results: Communicating analysis results clearly and understandably to both technical audiences and business stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field;
  • Master's or PhD in related areas are a plus;
  • At least 4 years of proven experience working as a data scientist on projects applying algorithms to solve business problems;
  • Experience with end-to-end data science project lifecycle (ingestion, storage, integration, processing, access) on cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP;
  • Experience working on data projects using agile methods (Scrum, Kanban);
  • Experience with code versioning;
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and Python, particularly with libraries such as pandas, NumPy, TensorFlow, and scikit-learn;
  • Knowledge of GCP services such as BigQuery, BigQuery ML, and Vertex AI is desirable.
