About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Reporting to the Department Supervisor, the Manganese Cleaning Technician is responsible to grind, air arc and weld manganese track work castings.
Operate a 4 ½ inch and 6 inch cup grinder.
Capable of taking oral / written direction, in order to be trained on a job function.
Be willing and able to perform job duties associated with training matrix.
Work on acquiring skills, per the training matrix, to become a Cleaning Tech Level 2.
Able to work with little supervision.
Adhere to Nortrak’s Environmental, Safety and Quality Procedures, Practices and Policies.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School graduate or GED preferred.
Must be able to pass a respirator test to wear PAPR.
Wear proper PPE for the job assignment.
Experience in welding and grinding operations is an asset.
Experience in Forklift and Crane operations is an asset.
Ability to read work orders and blueprints preferred.
Experience with measuring tools preferred.
Basic mathematical calculation experience in adding and subtracting whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
