About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform Network Operations Centre (NOC) shift activities and execute defined operational routines
- Proactively monitor network alarms and events to identify service-affecting issues
- Correlate alarms and events to detect and accurately register incidents
- Manage incidents from detection through resolution and closure
- Analyse, diagnose and troubleshoot network faults using remote tools and interfaces
- Execute remote recovery actions through command handling and operational systems
- Coordinate incident handling to support rapid service restoration
- Escalate incidents when resolution is outside first-line support scope
- Dispatch incidents to engineering teams, suppliers and external partners
- Monitor active incidents, alarms and outstanding trouble tickets
- Support field technicians with fault diagnosis and resolution
- Prioritise and escalate incidents based on impact and severity
- Manage access requests for technical sites and network facilities
- Verify network inventory consistency and communicate discrepancies
- Support operations and maintenance activities, including alarm testing and site intervention
- Prepare shift reports and conduct effective shift handovers
- Ensure adherence to SLAs and KPIs
- Support service desk activities, including call handling, email communication and ticket management
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications or a related discipline
- 5–8 years of experience in telecommunications operations or a similar network support function
- Strong understanding of GSM, UMTS, LTE and 5G technologies
- Knowledge of radio network equipment including RBS, BSC and RNC platforms
- Understanding of packet network environments including SGSN technologies
- Knowledge of PDH, SDH, Metro Ethernet and IP networks
- Experience working within an ITIL Incident Management framework
- Ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to work effectively under pressure during critical network incidents
- Experience with technical IT applications and operational support systems
- Strong stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation skills
- Ability to collaborate across teams and with external partners
- Availability for a 24x7 shift-based operational environment
- Professional written and spoken English communication skills
- Basic programming or scripting knowledge
