About the role
- Assist with drafting, vetting and negotiating a diverse range of commercial arrangements of moderate complexity
- Provide support on litigation matters and on matters that require competition law assessment/ guidance/ inputs
- Assist with drafting agreements and provide support in relation to acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, infrastructure sharing and intra-group reorganisations/ agreements
- Prepare clear written advice and recommendations that balance legal risk and commercial objectives
- Identify and propose practical risk mitigants and positions consistent with Group policies and business risk appetite
- Keep more senior team members and other stakeholders updated and briefed on projects and risk management concerns on a regular basis
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and alignment with Group governance requirements
- Proactively liaise with, coordinate and include input, from various stakeholders across the Group and in the markets
- Assist the legal team with collating information for reports from various stakeholders across the Group and in the markets
- Prepare, maintain, improve and socialise contract templates, clause templates, policies and playbooks in line with best practice and evolving Group requirements
- Assist the legal team in promoting knowledge sharing and collaboration to leverage learnings and drive synergy benefits
Requirements
- LLB degree and admitted attorney
- Minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience within a leading law firm and/or an in-house legal team, preferably in the telecommunications, media and/or technology sectors
- Excellent drafting skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrable experience drafting and negotiating a wide range of agreements and documents and advising on legal issues
- Ability to exercise sound judgement and to assess when to escalate matters or risks of a more complex or serious nature to more senior members of the legal team on an as needed basis
- Good interpersonal skills and experience collaborating with cross-functional teams
