About the role

  • Execute Group priority programmes, leadership messages, cultural moments and Corporate Announcements
  • Produce and publish content for channels such as email, Viva Engage, intranet, digital signage and employee app
  • Coordinate Group publications such as newsletters, digital magazines and content platforms such as the podcast and education/information series
  • Maintain content calendars, publishing grids and execution plans
  • Manage day‑to‑day publishing, posting, scheduling and channel operations at Group level
  • Partner with HR, Strategy, External Affairs and business units to deliver communication needs
  • Partner with other business areas responsible for key employee touchpoints such as the Employee App, Hyperbook, social media and HR touchpoints to influence the employee experience
  • Govern and maintain distribution lists to ensure the right messages reach the right audience
  • Manage the Viva Engage community, stimulating conversation and audience engagement
  • Oversee and maintain publishing schedules across all Group channels
  • Ensure always-on content flighting that syncs with business rhythm
  • Coordinate with Campaign Manager to align campaign launches with scheduled content drops
  • Track channel performance, engagement and audience insights to inform improvements
  • Test and adopt new formats to deliver content and communications
  • This includes exploring new ways to increase engagement such as AI powered Chatbots for FAQs

Requirements

  • Matric/Grade 12 or SAQA Accredited Equivalent (essential)
  • 3 year degree or diploma in either Communications, Journalism, PR Marketing or equivalent (essential)
  • 2-5 years’ experience in internal communications, employee engagement or corporate communications
  • Sound understanding and knowledge of internal communication as part of the overall communications process
  • Project management/planning
  • Digital media
  • Data & Analytics
  • Proven track record in executing communication plans and campaigns
  • Strong digital publishing skills across enterprise platforms
  • Excellent writing, editing and content packaging skills
  • Strong coordination, project management and organisational capability
  • Comfortable operating in a multi‑market or matrix environment (supported by Group-level expectations in existing profiles)
