About the role

  • Drive and oversee the successful delivery of M-Pesa’s strategic payment collection projects.
  • Lead the definition of project scope, objectives, approach, governance structures, controls, and acceptance criteria in alignment with business goals.
  • Facilitate project definition workshops, trainings and prepare comprehensive Project Initiation Documents.
  • Develop detailed project plans outlining activities, milestones, deliverables, resource requirements, and ownership.
  • Oversee business requirements in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Monitor and manage financial performance against budget throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Act as the primary liaison between M-Pesa and the client.
  • Manage and nurture the relationship.
  • Provide strong leadership and direction to cross-functional project teams.
  • Maintain high levels of stakeholder engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Finance, IT, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing large-scale public service or revenue collection projects.
  • Vast experience in Transportation sector i.e Air, Water, Rail, Busses etc.
  • Proven experience in stakeholder engagement, contract management, and team leadership.
  • Strong understanding of automated fare collection systems, smart card technologies, and financial reconciliation.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
