About the role
- This role is responsible for shaping, influencing, and managing the external regulatory and policy environment to enable sustainable business growth, protect the company’s license to operate, and support long-term investment
- Lead all engagements with the telecommunications regulator and relevant authorities
- Anticipate regulatory risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Ensure full compliance with license conditions and regulatory obligations
- Lead crisis-related regulatory coordination during major incidents or national events
- Develop and execute a public policy agenda aligned with national digital transformation priorities
- Represent the company in industry forums, working groups, and policy consultations
- Build evidence-based policy positions supported by economic, technical, and social impact analysis
- Build and maintain trusted relationships
- Act as the primary interface between the company and government stakeholders
- Support national initiatives and align company investments with government priorities
- Enable senior leadership engagements with ministers and senior officials
Requirements
- Deep understanding of telecommunications regulation and public policy
- Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills
- Political and regulatory intelligence
- Crisis management and judgment under pressure
- Strategic thinking with strong execution discipline
- Ability to translate complex regulatory issues into business impact
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 12–18+ years of experience in:
- Regulatory affairs
- Public policy
- Government relations or closely related fields in regulated industries
- Proven experience engaging at ministerial and regulator level
- Background in telecoms, technology, financial services, or infrastructure preferred
