About the role

  • This role is responsible for shaping, influencing, and managing the external regulatory and policy environment to enable sustainable business growth, protect the company’s license to operate, and support long-term investment
  • Lead all engagements with the telecommunications regulator and relevant authorities
  • Anticipate regulatory risks and develop mitigation strategies
  • Ensure full compliance with license conditions and regulatory obligations
  • Lead crisis-related regulatory coordination during major incidents or national events
  • Develop and execute a public policy agenda aligned with national digital transformation priorities
  • Represent the company in industry forums, working groups, and policy consultations
  • Build evidence-based policy positions supported by economic, technical, and social impact analysis
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships
  • Act as the primary interface between the company and government stakeholders
  • Support national initiatives and align company investments with government priorities
  • Enable senior leadership engagements with ministers and senior officials

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of telecommunications regulation and public policy
  • Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills
  • Political and regulatory intelligence
  • Crisis management and judgment under pressure
  • Strategic thinking with strong execution discipline
  • Ability to translate complex regulatory issues into business impact
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 12–18+ years of experience in:
  • Regulatory affairs
  • Public policy
  • Government relations or closely related fields in regulated industries
  • Proven experience engaging at ministerial and regulator level
  • Background in telecoms, technology, financial services, or infrastructure preferred
