About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead complex Surgical Services and Physician Preference Items consulting engagements from discovery through implementation
Conduct structured discovery, stakeholder interviews, and current-state assessments
Plan and oversee analysis of clinical, operational, financial, and supply chain data
Develop evidence-based strategies and business cases to improve cost efficiency, reduce clinical variation, strengthen operations, and advance patient care quality
Design implementation roadmaps, governance structures, change management approaches, and adoption strategies
Manage consulting workplans, priorities, timelines, budgets, resources, risks, dependencies, and deliverables
Facilitate executive-level and cross-functional working sessions
Advise senior and C-suite healthcare leaders and influence strategic decisions
Build and maintain senior-level client relationships
Establish success measures, monitor progress, and communicate performance improvement and value realization
Guide implementation and adoption of Vizient tools, technologies, analytics, and resources
Mentor less experienced consultants
Advance consulting capabilities, products, services, tools, methodologies, intellectual capital, case studies, and thought leadership

Requirements

What you’ll need

Relevant degree preferred
Clinical degree preferred
7 or more years of relevant experience required
Service line management experience in surgical services or perioperative departments required
Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and AI-enabled productivity tools required
Ability to analyze financial, operational, and quality data and translate findings into actionable performance improvement strategies
Strong consulting, structured problem-solving, project leadership, and change management skills
Exceptional verbal, written, presentation, and facilitation skills with the ability to influence senior and executive-level clients
Ability to work independently while effectively leading and collaborating across cross-functional teams
Ability to travel regularly and expeditiously throughout the year to meet clients’ needs and timetables
