About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Act as the backend technical reference (Java / Spring Boot) in the evolution of payment platforms.
Lead technical initiatives end-to-end: discovery, design, development, and maintenance of backend services.
Design and implement REST APIs and distributed services (microservices) for high transactional-scale environments.
Ensure quality, performance, scalability, and security of backend applications.
Ensure critical architectural requirements: idempotency, resilience, consistency, and low latency.
Define and implement technical standards, best practices, and frameworks based on Spring Boot.
Evolve and maintain event-driven architectures and integration via messaging.
Define backend automated testing strategies (unit, integration, and contract tests).
Implement and advance observability practices (logs, metrics, tracing, alerts).
Work collaboratively with product, architecture, and operations teams.
Support technical decisions and promote backend engineering best practices.
Work hands-on in the development and evolution of critical services.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Degree in a technology field (or equivalent).
Solid experience in backend development with Java (Spring Boot).
Strong experience building REST APIs and microservices.
Knowledge of distributed systems architecture, high availability, and resilience.
Experience with messaging and events (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
Experience with containers (Docker) and Kubernetes.
Experience with relational and non-relational databases, and domain-driven design/modeling.
Experience with automated testing and backend quality strategies.
Experience with CI/CD, deployment automation, and a DevOps culture.
Experience with observability (monitoring, metrics, and logging).
Experience in high-criticality, high-transaction-volume environments.
Ability to translate complex business rules into robust technical solutions.
Hands-on profile with technical autonomy and the ability to act as a team reference.
