About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform patient care activities according to standards of practice
- Room clinic patients in person or virtually and update patient charts
- Communicate pertinent patient data to providers and nurses
- Greet patients and provide scheduling, phone, and payment support
- Ensure efficient turnover of exam rooms
- Assist providers in exam rooms as requested
- Collect, prepare, and submit ordered patient lab specimens
- Assist with prior authorizations and documentation
- Triage patient phone calls and messages and document them appropriately
- Order and manage supplies
- Disinfect and stock exam rooms
- Obtain records required for patient charts
- Report patient issues during the treatment day
- Follow company policies and CDC infection-control guidelines
- Handle and store hazardous materials properly
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPPA
- Communicate schedule changes and assist with patient rescheduling
- Manage incoming mail and deliveries
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school graduate or equivalent, required
- Medical Assistant Certification, preferred
- CPR/BLS, required prior to start date
- 1 year of experience working within a clinical environment, required
- 1 year in an administrative, patient-facing, or customer service role, required
- Phlebotomy and lab processing skills, preferred
- Ability to work independently
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Computer skills for electronic recordkeeping
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- Ability to use required PPE and safety equipment
- Eligibility to work in the US
