About the role

  • Lead the development and optimisation of protein bar formulations
  • Drive projects from concept through to commercial launch
  • Ensure products are scalable and perform in manufacturing, including co-man environments
  • Work closely with production partners during scale-up and troubleshoot issues in real time
  • Optimise texture, taste, nutritional targets, and shelf-life within production constraints
  • Own formulation changes, ingredient selection, and technical problem-solving
  • Ensure structured documentation, specifications, and product standards
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of products and processes
  • Stay up to date on ingredients, technologies, and trends within protein and functional nutrition

Requirements

  • Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or similar
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience working with protein products in product development and R&D
  • Proven experience developing and scaling protein-based products in manufacturing environments
  • Experience working closely with manufacturing or co-manufacturers
  • Strong understanding of formulation, ingredient functionality, processing, and scaling
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical challenges in production environments
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability for results
  • Structured and pragmatic way of working
