About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the operation and maintenance of the fossil fleet
  • Drive plant Predictive Maintenance functions to ensure the maintenance strategy is effectively executed
  • Improve equipment performance and interface with corporate support groups and fleet resources to strengthen maintenance and reliability programs
  • Apply predictive maintenance practices within a fossil-fueled power plant
  • Promote safety using HPI tools and techniques and participate actively in the plant safety program
  • Ensure equipment data is collected consistently, accurately, and on time
  • Analyze equipment data proficiently and use support resources efficiently
  • Maintain equipment strategies to minimize unplanned failures and maximize plant reliability
  • Champion the plant predictive maintenance program
  • Standardize procedures, processes, equipment, and operations practices across the plant and fleet
  • Support capital projects with data and analysis
  • Provide technical support for QA/QC, equipment installation, and startup
  • Participate in outage planning and provide input on equipment inspection and repair
  • Maintain documentation supporting data-driven PdM decisions
  • Develop predictive maintenance strategies for existing and newly added equipment
  • Monitor equipment condition and historical trends using plant reporting instrumentation
  • Train Reliability Technicians in PdM technologies
  • Coordinate and direct Reliability Technician work as needed
  • Assume Reliability Supervisor responsibilities during absences

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ten years of related industrial experience, preferably in power plant maintenance or operations
  • Progressive responsibility in related industrial work
  • Proficiency using CMMS, SKF software, drawings, and instruction books
  • Level 2 certifications in vibration analysis, thermography, and lubrication analysis
  • Level 3 certification in one PdM technology: vibration analysis, thermography, or lubrication analysis
  • Participation in maintenance and reliability networks and forums
  • Experience facilitating root cause analysis (RCA) according to Vistra standards
  • Knowledge of corporate Reliability and Predictive Maintenance standards, processes, and procedures
  • Ability to create or support ideas that improve efficiency
  • Ability to plan and implement tasks within expected time frames
  • Clear and concise written, verbal, and electronic communication
  • Knowledge of how assigned work affects operations and maintenance of other systems and units
  • Ability to use a PC and/or data collector 4–6 hours per day
  • Ability to work occasional long or irregular hours
  • Ability to travel occasionally between company facilities and stay overnight occasionally
