About the role

  • Support Department of Defense clients within the Personnel & Readiness organization
  • Investigate, analyze, and evaluate policies, programs, and procedures related to integrated primary prevention of harmful behaviors in the military
  • Conduct literature reviews, assess research quality, and synthesize findings and recommendations
  • Support DoD social science, public health, and workplace climate research efforts including program evaluations, focus groups, and organizational climate surveys
  • Interpret statistical findings and present data and research results to non-technical audiences
  • Utilize quantitative and qualitative research methods and program evaluation methodologies
  • Provide clear verbal and written communications to a variety of stakeholders in alignment with DoD style expectations
  • Prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Develop solutions to problems of moderate scope and complexity

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in public health, sociology, epidemiology, or a related social science field
  • 3+ years directly related experience
  • Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating health promotion policies and programs (preferred)
  • Experience working in a military environment (preferred)
  • Active or recent DoD clearance or suitability determination, or ability to obtain a security clearance (preferred)
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Understanding of social science disciplines, research methodology, and statistics
  • Ability to conduct literature reviews, assess research quality, and synthesize findings
  • Experience with program evaluations, focus groups, and organizational climate surveys
  • Ability to interpret statistical findings and present data to non-technical audiences
  • Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative research methods and program evaluation methodologies
  • Clear verbal and written communications aligned with DoD style expectations
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
