About the role
- Support Department of Defense clients within the Personnel & Readiness organization
- Investigate, analyze, and evaluate policies, programs, and procedures related to integrated primary prevention of harmful behaviors in the military
- Conduct literature reviews, assess research quality, and synthesize findings and recommendations
- Support DoD social science, public health, and workplace climate research efforts including program evaluations, focus groups, and organizational climate surveys
- Interpret statistical findings and present data and research results to non-technical audiences
- Utilize quantitative and qualitative research methods and program evaluation methodologies
- Provide clear verbal and written communications to a variety of stakeholders in alignment with DoD style expectations
- Prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Develop solutions to problems of moderate scope and complexity
Requirements
- Doctoral degree in public health, sociology, epidemiology, or a related social science field
- 3+ years directly related experience
- Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating health promotion policies and programs (preferred)
- Experience working in a military environment (preferred)
- Active or recent DoD clearance or suitability determination, or ability to obtain a security clearance (preferred)
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Understanding of social science disciplines, research methodology, and statistics
- Ability to conduct literature reviews, assess research quality, and synthesize findings
- Experience with program evaluations, focus groups, and organizational climate surveys
- Ability to interpret statistical findings and present data to non-technical audiences
- Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative research methods and program evaluation methodologies
- Clear verbal and written communications aligned with DoD style expectations
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
