Lead Maintenance Technician
VistaLead A&P Technician for FAA Part 145 Repair Station maintaining aircraft like Challenger and Citation. Responsible for inspections and compliance while mentoring technicians in a structured environment.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and perform scheduled and unscheduled inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and modifications on Citation 560/X, Challenger 300/350, and Bombardier Global aircraft within a Part 145 Repair Station.
- Ensure all work is performed in strict compliance with FAA regulations, repair station manuals, and customer requirements.
- Direct, mentor, and assist technicians, ensuring tasks are performed safely, accurately, and efficiently.
- Troubleshoot complex systems including avionics, hydraulics, structures, and engines, providing technical expertise and solutions.
- Review and approve work order documentation, log entries, and forms in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate daily workflow, prioritize projects, and communicate progress to the Accountable Manager and management team.
- Ensure tooling, equipment, and materials are properly used, maintained, and calibrated per repair station requirements.
- Assist with internal audits, quality inspections, and regulatory compliance activities.
- Act as a liaison when needed, providing updates on project status and technical findings.
- Promote a strong safety culture and adherence to continuous improvement processes.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate.
- Minimum 5+ years of business jet maintenance experience, with expertise on Citation 560/X, Challenger 300/350, and Bombardier Global series aircraft.
- At least 3+ years of leadership experience in an aviation environment.
- Proven ability to lead teams and coordinate maintenance projects.
- Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, repair station operations, and quality control requirements.
- Proficiency with computerized maintenance tracking systems (CAMP, Corridor, Traxxall, or equivalent).
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to interpret complex schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and on-call duty, as required.
