  • Oversee the development and launch of large-scale educational products; manage the creation of multi-format educational products with a focus on standards alignment, learner engagement, and platform-specific optimization.
  • Act as a spokesperson and thought leader for the company at industry conferences, educational forums, and media engagements, elevating the brand’s profile and influencing trends in educational publishing.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders such as educational institutions, government bodies, content partners, and technology vendors to expand the company’s reach and collaborative opportunities.
  • Ensure the highest levels of editorial integrity and quality across all platforms and delivery channels.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders across functions to embed editorial initiatives into integrated, data-informed product strategies.
  • Monitor and analyze market dynamics and competitive intelligence; shape strategic content initiatives and long-term planning based on market signals and shifts in digital education policy.
  • Champion the continuous optimization of editorial workflows and tools through improved workflows and content management systems.
  • Manage editorial operating models; oversee budget, resource allocation, vendor partnerships, and freelance ecosystems to support scalability and operational sustainability.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree minimum
  • Editorial Leadership 8+ years of people management experience leading, mentoring, and developing editorial teams and cross-functional collaborators while fostering innovation, excellence, and digital-first editorial thinking.
  • Proven editorial leader able to shape content strategy, serve as the senior editorial voice, and align initiatives with organizational goals, audience needs, brand standards, and long-term educational impact.
  • Expert-level knowledge of relevant academic standards, learner needs, and educational market expectations, with a strong commitment to editorial quality and consistency across platforms.
  • Track record of advancing instructional content through multimodal learning, inclusive design, educational technology trends, and digital transformation initiatives that support diverse learners.
  • 13+ years of experience in educational publishing or curriculum development, with majority spent in the relevant curriculum area and learning stage.
  • Subject matter expert in relevant K-12 World Language curriculum area and intended learners.
  • Expert level knowledge of relevant educational market and landscape, familiarity with state and national standards, and a keen awareness of the distinct needs and challenges of the market.
  • Expertise with CMS and digital publishing platforms or proprietary educational publishing systems.
  • Strong knowledge of digital publishing standards and formats and interactive content platforms.
  • Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Smartsheet, SharePoint, and related productivity and collaboration tools.
  • Strong proficiency with project management and workflow.
  • Excellent strategic thinking skills to set direction, anticipate market shifts, risks, and opportunities.
  • Excellent analytical skills using data and sound judgment to assess priorities, evaluate risk, and support strategic decisions.
  • Exceptional communication skills to clearly and effectively build trust, align stakeholders, and keep work moving forward.
