About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Act as the data focal point for back-office areas and business units, translating priorities into analytical requests
  • Build and maintain the area roadmap, prioritizing initiatives by impact on revenue, margin and operational efficiency
  • Present results, analyses and recommendations to leadership and business stakeholders
  • Promote a data-driven decision culture and enable teams in the use of analytics tools
  • Manage the data team, including hiring, performance evaluation, development and retention
  • Ensure integrity, availability, performance and scalability of the data architecture on AWS
  • Approve architecture decisions, review estimates and define technical and quality standards
  • Manage budget and contracts with cloud, BI and specialized service providers
  • Implement and maintain quality policies, a data catalog, a metrics dictionary and access control
  • Consolidate a single layer of KPIs for the group
  • Ensure compliance with LGPD
  • Prepare the data layer for large-scale AI use, including a semantic layer, structured and unstructured data, lineage and governed access
  • Support the development of autonomous and semi-autonomous agents for performance analysis, assortment, replenishment, franchisee support and analytical automation
  • Define agents' scope of operation, quality criteria and human decision points
  • Evaluate feasibility, cost and return on AI use cases and monitor inference costs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics, Business Administration, Economics or related fields
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Data, Analytics or BI
  • Minimum 3 years of formal people management experience
  • Experience managing budgets and contracts with technology vendors
  • Experience presenting to and aligning with executives and business leaders
  • Experience in retail, e-commerce or distribution, with high volumes and integration between online and offline channels
  • AWS Certified Data Engineer or Solutions Architect certification
  • Ownership mindset, strong communication skills and team spirit
  • Rigorous approach to adopting new technologies
  • Postgraduate degree or MBA focused on management or business — a plus
  • Experience with franchise networks — a plus
  • Certifications in data governance (DAMA/CDMP) or visualization tools (Looker, Power BI) — a plus
