About the role
- Full responsibility for development and serial-production projects in the area of guided missiles and warheads with respect to cost, schedule, and quality
- Leadership of interdisciplinary project teams (systems engineering, propulsion, sensors, electronics, warhead, integration, production)
- Translating military customer requirements into technical specifications and project plans
- Requirements management through to serial release (Idea to Offer)
- Management of development, qualification, and acceptance tests (including live-fire trials, environmental and stress tests)
- Budget planning, forecasting, and resource management
- Identification, assessment and management of technical and regulatory risks
- Coordination of subcontractors and international partners
- Ensuring compliance with security, export-control, and certification requirements
- Contract, claims, and change management
- Reporting to executive management, customers, and authorities
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or a comparable field
- Several years of experience in project management of complex technical systems, ideally in the defense sector
- Knowledge of missile, warhead, or effect-system technology is an advantage
- Experience working with military specifications and regulatory requirements (e.g., MIL standards)
- Strong project management skills (e.g., IPMA, PMI, PRINCE2 are an advantage)
- Fluent German and English skills (business/negotiation level)
- Willingness to travel and eligibility to undergo security clearance
