About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide integrated remote support to patients, pharmacists, and providers
  • Streamline patient intake processes and navigate insurance requirements
  • Enhance medication access and conduct patient outreach
  • Reduce the financial burden of high-cost prescriptions
  • Act as liaison among pharmacies, clinic staff, and insurance providers
  • Optimize treatment initiation and improve patient satisfaction
  • Conduct benefits investigations and handle medication authorizations
  • Manage insurance denials and identify assistance programs
  • Communicate medication options and financial resources to patients
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation in EMR systems
  • Assist with onboarding and training of client-employed medication access specialists
  • Collaborate with team members to provide insight and feedback into operations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of three years of pharmacy experience in healthcare or with pharmacy providers focused on medication access
  • Two years of healthcare revenue cycle experience, including medication authorizations and preadmission/precertification processes (preferred)
  • Expertise in retail pharmacy PBM adjudication, ensuring accurate claim processing and reimbursement (preferred)
  • Proficient in utilizing CoverMyMeds® for prior authorization submissions, streamlining medication access (preferred)
  • State Board of Pharmacy Technician registration obtained within 2 months of start date, if applicable based on state requirements (required)
  • Active CPhT certification through either PTCB or NHA (preferred)
  • Strong judgment and decision-making skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and team collaboration skills
  • Extensive expertise in medication reimbursement, prior authorization, and healthcare coding
