Key responsibilities & impact

Design code and systems influencing Visa's internal standards for scalability, security, and reusability
Collaborate cross-functionally to create design artifacts and develop software solutions
Contribute to product quality improvements, service technology, and new business flows in agile squads
Develop robust and scalable products for merchants, businesses, and government solutions
Build payment technology for Payment Services, Transaction Platforms, Real-Time Payments, and Buy Now Pay Later
Understand technical requirements and contribute to development and solution strategies
Improve the design and functionality of interface features across project features
Write code using languages such as HTML, C++, and Java
Pilot new technology capabilities and features enhancing e-commerce user experiences
Analyze bugs and use debugging tools to verify assumptions
Create, maintain, and execute test plans
Participate in code reviews and apply coding standards

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree OR at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree OR 0 years of work experience with a PhD OR 8+ years of relevant work experience
Experience in software engineering or a directly related field
Experience developing and/or implementing web-based or mobile applications
Experience in a leadership role, with or without direct reports
Experience with technologies/software systems or a directly related field
Experience creating and maintaining test plans and executing testing procedures
Experience debugging and troubleshooting software issues
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver technical solutions
Experience in code review and applying coding standards
Experience building or enhancing developer tools
Expertise in one or more general development languages, such as Java, C#, or C++
Experience building and deploying modern services and web applications with quality and scalability
Experience collaborating with Product, Test, Dev-ops, and Agile/Scrum teams
Experience with technologies such as Angular, React, Kubernetes, or Docker
Preferred: 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree, 4 or more years with an Advanced Degree, or up to 3 years with a PhD
Preferred experience with container-based technologies, enterprise-scale web services, product development, and client-facing project or technical teams
Ability to work in an office setting
Availability for 5–10% travel
