About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead a team of talented C++ developers within PC & Console projects development, with particular focus on porting of existing and future game titles to PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
  • As leader of the Core tech team, work closely with Technical Directors on technical analysis and evaluation of the potential projects and opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with the game design, art, and production teams to ensure a seamless and high-quality game experience on all platforms.
  • Optimize game performance for various console hardware, including CPU, GPU, and memory utilization.
  • Implement platform-specific features and functionality, such as platform-specific APIs, achievements, and controller support.
  • Ensure that games meet platform certification requirements, working closely with quality assurance and platform holders.
  • Actively participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and team meetings to contribute to overall team growth and development.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge base development in the areas of C++, Unreal Engine, PC & Console.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers and assist in their professional growth.
  • Continuously research and stay up-to-date on the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in console game development.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Game Development, or a related field.
  • 6+ years in C++ PC & Console Game development with 2+ years using Unreal Engine (UE4 or UE5).
  • Strong C++ skills; excellent low-level understanding, memory management, multithreading, and debugging skills.
  • Solid understanding of modern game engine architecture.
  • Good knowledge of Unreal Engine internals (Gameplay Framework, UMG, replication, etc).
  • Proven experience shipping at least one game in a leading role.
  • Previous experience leading engineering teams and managing complex codebases.
  • Strong grasp of optimization and CPU / GPU performance profiling (Unreal Insights, PIX, RenderDoc).
  • Solid experience shipping games across multiple platforms, proven experience in developing/porting games to at least two major console platforms (PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch).
  • Proficient with version control (Git/Perforce) and task management (JIRA).
  • English level: Upper-Intermediate or higher.
