• Drive the platform strategy, delivering reusable services, tooling, and CI/CD pipelines for product teams
• Champion developer experience by introducing self-service approaches to reduce toil and speed delivery
• Set standards for engineering excellence and lead high-performing product and platform engineering teams
• Collaborate with Architecture, Product, Security, and Data teams to deliver solutions
• Introduce and promote AI-assisted engineering, observability, automation and modern practices
• Define architectural patterns for highly-reliable, reusable microservices and APIs

• Champion a culture of continuous improvement and clear communications
• Lead and inspire a team of continuous improvement leads to deliver results
• Build trusted relationships with leaders and influence strategic decisions
• Partner across Virgin to deliver strategic, lasting operational improvements
• Create simple frameworks and processes to improve ways of working
• Facilitate workshops to align stakeholders and co-create practical solutions
• Use insight, analysis and feedback to identify opportunities and recommend improvements
• Support leaders by sharing best practice and building continuous improvement capability
