About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide direct service in a GLE/SIE residential setting
- Help Persons Served overcome barriers to and prepare for independent living
- Implement Treatment Plan support interventions under LPHA Clinician coaching and support
- Assist the Program Director with orientation, daily assignments, administrative officer duties, and program operations
- Collaborate with Integrated Team members to address Persons Served needs
- Schedule and facilitate weekly resident group meetings, including menu input
- Perform grocery shopping, meal preparation, and physical site maintenance
- Store, administer, document, and dispose of medications according to MAP requirements and company policy
- Teach Persons Served medication management
- Provide crisis interventions and access on-call backup when needed
- Encourage social interaction and create a welcoming, collaborative residential environment
- Advocate for Persons Served and serve as a resource for neighbors
- Attend trainings, supervision, and staff meetings
- Complete required documentation, incident documentation, and infection-control inventories
- Contribute to quality improvement goals and evidence-based practices
- Assist with organization of surveillance testing as needed
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate’s degree in a human service discipline preferred
- One year as a residential counselor working with Persons Served facing mental health challenges preferred
- One to two years of job-specific human services experience preferred
- Valid US driver's license required at employment
- At least 21 years of age
- Must have maintained a valid US driver's license for at least six months
- Must pass a driver's screening background check
- Personal-vehicle drivers must maintain adequate insurance and a safe driving record
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, and maneuver through narrow spaces
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds using proper lifting techniques or a two-person lift
- Ability to assist Persons Served with activities of daily living
- Ability to operate a computer, calculator, copier, and printer
- Ability to communicate with Persons Served, staff, and external representatives
- Knowledge of personal computer applications and equipment
- Ability to establish supportive, trusting relationships with Persons Served, families, and neighbors
- Ability to balance competing priorities and make independent judgments and decisions
- Ability to work professionally and confidentially
- Sensitivity to cultural, religious, ethnic, disability, and gender issues
