About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Implement arts based program services, exhibitions, and sales.
- Provide individual and group studio facilitation to artists at Gateway Arts Studio Art Center.
- Work in partnership with artists to improve artistic skills and self-determination within the studios.
- Promote a supportive and empowering service environment in which artists learn to advocate for themselves, make their own choices, and assume additional responsibilities within the Art Studios.
- Provide inspiration and direction for artists.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the studio on a daily basis.
- Collaborate with staff on special projects.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Advanced training, experience, or professional credentials are required.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in the human services field required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience related to art as an instructor in Arts Based Services for Studio Art Specialist II.
- Minimum 15 years of experience related to art as an instructor in Arts Based Services for Studio Art Specialist III.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; Bachelor’s degree in art related field is preferred.
- Practicing performance artist or visual artist or studio artist or exhibition or art collector experience is a plus.
- Driving is preferred using either a Vinfen van or personal vehicle. A valid driver's license must be presented at time of employment.
- CPR required within two weeks of hire.
- First Aid required within two weeks of hire.
- Safety Care required within 90 days of hire.
