Awake Overnight Residential Counselor
VinfenAwake Overnight Residential Counselor responsible for overnight support and program activities in community settings. Ensuring safety and training for individuals with behavioral health challenges.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responsible for overnight program activities in a community living arrangement.
- Provide individual and group support to persons served.
- Teach skills to enhance independence and quality of life.
- Ensure a safe, secure and clean residential environment.
- Assist in implementing treatment programs, including ISP/PSTPs and clinical programs.
- Maintain records for persons served.
- Document all information related to incidents, programs and routine activities in a communication log.
- Provide training and support to persons served in completing ADLs.
- Conduct fire and safety training for persons served and document in training log.
- Monitor physical and emotional needs, and report changes to supervisor.
- Store, administer, document and dispose of medication for persons served.
- Participate in all mandated training and staff meetings as directed by the Site Manager.
- Ensure compliance with all internal and external regulatory bodies.
- Perform hands-on tasks in the program as required.
- Ensure required staff to person served ratio is maintained at all times.
- Provide physical intervention and/or first aid in the event of behavior or medical emergency.
- Must remain awake, alert and dressed throughout the entire shift.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Three months to one year experience in a related function
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Driving is a requirement for this position using either a Vinfen van or personal vehicle.
- Must maintain adequate insurance and a safe driving record.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must be able to pass a driver's screening background check.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb as this is a very physically active position.
- Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds using proper lifting techniques or the use of a two-person lift.
- Required Certifications: CPR, First Aid, MAP, PBS Tier 1, Safety Care.
