About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provides direct service to adults with mental health conditions in a GLE/SIE residential setting
  • Helps persons served in the residences to overcome barriers to, and prepare for, living independently
  • Implements Treatment Plan support interventions as coached and supported by Team LPHA Clinician
  • Assumes administrative officer roles in the program to support the Program Director
  • Liaisons with families as needed
  • Supports Persons Served in obtaining and understanding medical and psychiatric care as needed
  • Administers medications following Medication Administration Program (MAP) policies and procedures
  • Provides crisis interventions when needed
  • Provides physical site maintenance
  • Ensures a safe, comfortable and clean environment
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Associate's degree in a human service discipline preferred
  • One year as a residential counselor in a setting working with Persons Served facing mental health challenges preferred
  • One to two years of job-specific experience in the human services field preferred
  • Preference given to bilingual/bicultural applicants and applicants with lived experience of psychiatric conditions
  • Ability to make independent judgments and decisions
  • Ability to work in a professional and confidential capacity
  • Knowledge of personal computer applications and equipment
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and have a current, valid, US drivers' license for at least 6 months
  • Must become CPR, First Aid certified within 2 weeks of employment and MAP certified within 150 days of employment
  • All candidates must be able to successfully pass a CORI, reference, multi-state background and driving record check.
