Lead Residential Counselor, Mental Health Services
VinfenLead Residential Counselor providing direct service to adults with mental health conditions in a residential setting. Helping them overcome barriers to independent living and support their treatment plans.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provides direct service to adults with mental health conditions in a GLE/SIE residential setting
- Helps persons served in the residences to overcome barriers to, and prepare for, living independently
- Implements Treatment Plan support interventions as coached and supported by Team LPHA Clinician
- Assumes administrative officer roles in the program to support the Program Director
- Liaisons with families as needed
- Supports Persons Served in obtaining and understanding medical and psychiatric care as needed
- Administers medications following Medication Administration Program (MAP) policies and procedures
- Provides crisis interventions when needed
- Provides physical site maintenance
- Ensures a safe, comfortable and clean environment
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- A high school diploma or equivalent is required
- Associate's degree in a human service discipline preferred
- One year as a residential counselor in a setting working with Persons Served facing mental health challenges preferred
- One to two years of job-specific experience in the human services field preferred
- Preference given to bilingual/bicultural applicants and applicants with lived experience of psychiatric conditions
- Ability to make independent judgments and decisions
- Ability to work in a professional and confidential capacity
- Knowledge of personal computer applications and equipment
- Must be at least 21 years of age and have a current, valid, US drivers' license for at least 6 months
- Must become CPR, First Aid certified within 2 weeks of employment and MAP certified within 150 days of employment
- All candidates must be able to successfully pass a CORI, reference, multi-state background and driving record check.
