About the role
- Location: Munich, regular travel required
- Lead sourcing, evaluation, and execution of strategic investments and M&A across climate, water, and food sectors
- Full-cycle ownership from market research and thesis development to closing and integration
- Identify targets, build business cases, conduct due diligence, and steer negotiations with founders/managers/family owners
- Construct valuation models, assess risks, and provide clear recommendations to board and investment team
- Support portfolio companies with growth, bolt-on acquisitions, and international expansion
- Collaborate with Viessmann board members, shareholders, and internal teams to shape long-term value
Requirements
- Seasoned investment professional with end-to-end deal execution and portfolio management experience
- Independently led multiple M&A transactions as accountable lead
- Buy-side background (corporate M&A, private equity, family office, or entrepreneurial investment platform)
- Experience building valuation models, conducting due diligence, and negotiating with founders/managers/family owners
- Ability to build, scale, and steer companies post-investment (operational value creation)
- Fluent in English and German (C1 level)
- Strong communication, curiosity, humility, accountability, and hands-on drive
