About the role

  • The Organisational Design Lead works with business leaders, change teams and People and Culture to review and design how teams are structured and how work is organised across the department.
  • They support the development of operating models, define responsibilities across teams and help plan workforce changes that align with DTP’s priorities.
  • The role influences leaders by providing advice, facilitating workshops and using workforce data to guide decisions.
  • Success in this role leads to clearer team structures, well-defined responsibilities and more effective ways of working, helping the department deliver its goals and manage change successfully.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications or experience in a relevant discipline. (mandatory)
  • Strong experience in organisation design and operating model development. (mandatory)
  • An ability to drive consistency and standardisation across diverse teams and branches. (mandatory)
  • Proficient in data analysis and problem-solving to identify issues and provide recommendations. (mandatory)
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage with senior business leaders and stakeholders. (mandatory)
  • Knowledge of best practices in organisational design and job architecture, particularly in the public sector. (desirable)
  • Experience with developing and mapping functional accountabilities and role designs in large organisations. (desirable)
  • Familiarity with change management frameworks. (desirable)
