About the role

  • Help provide a solid evidence base to support for the development of new public transport service plans.
  • Analyze and present performance, reliability and patronage data for the public transport network.
  • Develop data transformation flows, dashboards, and geospatial project templates and tools.
  • Collaborate with other teams to analyze and identify opportunities to improve data quality.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests for data analytics.

Requirements

  • A relevant tertiary qualification or experience in Transport Planning, Data/Computer Science/Analytics/Engineering, or another field relevant to this role.
  • Knowledge of the Victorian public transport system
  • Expertise in the use of GIS software, ideally ARCGIS and/or QGIS.
  • Skills in data analytics platforms such as Tableau, PowerBI, and/or databricks.
  • Experience with programming and querying languages such as SQL, R, and/or Python.
  • Experience with public transport network planning software such as HASTUS, Austrics, Optibus and/or Remix.
