About the role
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight of governance, integrity and regulatory functions.
- Ensure the Department has an effective portfolio governance framework.
- Oversee the delivery of secretariat support to the department’s Tier 1 and Tier 2 committees.
- Responsible for leading the department’s transport regulatory operations function.
- Oversee prosecutions and case reviews, regulatory performance, compliance and enforcement matters.
Requirements
- Extensive leadership experience, including the management of staff, through complex and challenging environments.
- Demonstrated experience leading the provision of authoritative advice to Ministers, the Secretary and Deputy Secretaries on some or all of governance, regulatory and integrity matters.
- Demonstrated experience managing the development and management of workforce, budgets, finances, and expenditure.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively identify and assess emerging issues, consider options, and devise effective action plans and innovative solutions to complex challenges.
- A degree in a suitable discipline, such as law, regulation, public policy or related field.
- Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa necessary for the nature of the position.
