About the role
- The Senior Structural Engineer plays an essential role in the delivery of the Monitor and Complex Inspection Program by undertaking structural inspections and a range of tasks related to the condition assessment of bridges and other road related structures to contribute to structures level of service.
- Exercise professional independent judgement to undertake structural inspections and give advice on maintenance and strengthening investment priorities.
- Utilise competent skills in instrumentation and deterioration assessment to co-ordinate DTP information on the remote monitoring of structures.
- Demonstrate clear communication and sound independent judgment to negotiate with and influence key stakeholders.
- Apply project management skills to co-ordinate the planning, scheduling and resource management matters relating to development and delivery of projects.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of a culture of innovation and continual process improvement.
Requirements
- Mandatory Tertiary qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering
- A solid understanding of road structure types and elements
- OHS (Occupational Health and Safety) principles awareness
- Bridge inspection or construction experience (Desirable)
- Experience in Project Management (Desirable)
- Experience in Asset Management (Desirable)
