About the role

  • The Team Leader Materials Assurance plays an important role in delivering on DTPs material assurance schemes which supports the delivery of its assets.
  • This position leads a team responsible for conducting surveillance audits, providing specialist support on the manufacture and testing of construction materials, and assisting with the implementation and operation of assurance schemes.
  • The role works across projects, technical and industry partners, applying knowledge in quality systems and DTP requirements to check for compliance, identify and resolve issues.
  • Develops and coordinates the delivery of a surveillance and audit program in respect to construction material manufacture, testing and other assurance schemes, including developing and implementing supporting reporting systems and tools.
  • Engages and works collaboratively with industry, technical and project teams, reporting findings, and ensuring issues are resolved effectively.
  • Applies technical skills to develop responses to moderately complex technical issues / queries, and contributes to the development of technical documentation, procedures and processes.
  • Supports the team in delivering material assurance activities and schemes (e.g. Register of Testing Companies, Mix Design Registrations, etc).

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in a civil construction materials-related field in one or more of the following areas: Road project delivery / construction, Quality management / auditing / assurance, Civil construction laboratory testing, Construction materials (e.g. quarry products, concrete, asphalt, soils, pavements, steel), Accreditation assessments (e.g. NATA assessor)
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering discipline, or a relevant technical qualification
