About the role

  • Leading a high performing division that delivers value and provides proactive planning and advisory services across DTP
  • Leading, facilitating, and maintaining relationships with a diverse range of senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Representing and advocating for DTP in portfolio and whole of government forums
  • Providing relevant, authoritative, and timely advice and assurance to achieve and maintain Victorian Government Purchasing Board accreditation
  • Leading an uplift in general procurement capability and understanding within the organisation and portfolio.

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in finance, economics or related commercial discipline
  • A proven record of leading a procurement function in a large complex organisation
  • Strong understanding of best practice procurement frameworks and the Financial Management Act
  • All new appointments to the department will be subject to a National Criminal Records Check, Misconduct Screening, and a Qualification Check where there is a requirement for a mandatory qualification
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa necessary for the nature of the position
  • Recipients of Victorian Public Service (VPS) voluntary departure packages should note that re-employment restrictions apply
  • Non-VPS applicants will be subject to a probation period of six months
