About the role

  • Lead complex end-to-end projects with multiple stakeholders and high impact
  • Define modeling strategy: features, approach, baseline, success criteria, offline/online testing (when applicable)
  • Design robust data pipelines for training/inference in partnership with engineering (batch/near-real-time)
  • Use Vertex AI for pipelines, training, endpoints, and monitoring (when applicable)
  • Implement MLOps practices: data/model versioning, model registry, drift and performance monitoring
  • Assess risks and governance: bias, stability, explainability, security and compliance (when applicable)
  • Mentor scientists/analysts and raise technical standards (code reviews, experimentation standards, documentation)
  • Connect models to products: decisions, automations and agents (e.g., scoring, prioritization, detection, recommendation, intelligent orchestration)

Requirements

  • Advanced Python and strong applied ML/statistics expertise
  • Advanced SQL and strong experience with BigQuery (large-volume and performance-focused)
  • Solid experience with GCP and ML (preferably Vertex AI, pipelines/endpoints)
  • Experience with MLOps and model production (observability/monitoring)
  • Technical leadership and strategic communication skills
  • Nice-to-haves: causal inference/experimentation, optimization, LLMOps/GenAI (when applicable), enterprise model governance
  • End-to-end ML architecture (data → model → production → monitoring)
  • Model governance (risk, bias, drift, explainability)
  • Scalability and efficiency (cost/performance) in the cloud
  • Model-to-impact connection (KPIs, ROI, continuous improvement)
