About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Independently plan, prepare and conduct indication-related scientific discussions and field visits with office-based specialists
  • Achieve growth and sales targets
  • Identify and strategically manage relevant customer groups and specialists (currently neurologists, gastroenterologists, pain specialists) as well as specialized centers
  • Build and maintain relationships with regional and national key opinion leaders while strictly adhering to legal requirements and Viatris codes and internal policies
  • Analyse and actively shape regional networks that influence the prescribing behaviour of the target audience
  • Provide evidence-based, indication-specific advice on products, services and therapy options within the assigned territory; communicate appropriately for the target audience in compliance with the German Medicines Act (AMG) and internal compliance rules
  • Implement the applicable marketing and sales strategy for the territory, including individual action planning based on CRM and market data as well as a comprehensive analysis of regional influencing factors
  • Actively support therapy switches and new patient starts and ensure stable patient care
  • Position yourself as a competent, scientifically grounded contact in the specialist segment to strengthen the Viatris brand
  • Plan, organise and/or support regional and national scientific events (on-site/hybrid/digital) in accordance with compliance and internal requirements
  • Ensure complete, timely documentation of all activities, sample dispensations and customer data in the CRM system (currently Veeva/Salesforce.com)
  • Mandatory reporting of adverse events within 24 hours in accordance with applicable legal and internal regulations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Several years of field sales experience in prescription pharmaceuticals (Rx); ideally in specialist field sales
  • Certification as a pharmaceutical representative in accordance with Section 75 of the German Medicines Act (AMG)
  • Degree in the natural sciences or a medical/pharmaceutical background is advantageous
  • Solid knowledge of the pharmacology of the relevant therapy areas (currently neurology, gastroenterology)
  • Experience in specialty or specialist field sales and handling complex therapy areas desirable
  • Strong customer orientation, professional stakeholder management and ability to build long-term relationships
  • Excellent sales skills, scientific argumentation strength and strong closing orientation
  • Analytical, entrepreneurial mindset including confident interpretation of regional market and care data
  • Team player with high self-organisation, digital competence and structured work approach, as well as excellent communication skills
  • Driving licence (Class B)
  • Residence in the assigned territory
  • Good English skills desirable to use international study and product information and to facilitate internal company communication
