About the role
- Design and develop mechanical components, enclosures, and assemblies for electronic systems
- Perform CAD modeling and detailed drawings to support prototype and production builds
- Collaborate closely with electrical engineers to ensure accurate PCB-to-mechanical integration
- Use Altium MCAD CoDesigner to synchronize mechanical and PCB design changes
- Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) to validate structural integrity
- Perform stress analysis, including torsional rigidity of enclosures and PCB mounting systems
- Execute shock and vibration analysis for ruggedized environments
- Perform thermal analysis to ensure adequate cooling and thermal performance
- Support design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and design-for-assembly (DFA) best practices
- Document analysis results, assumptions, and design decisions
- Support prototype builds, testing, and design iteration.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 5–7 years of professional experience as a Mechanical Engineer in product development or system design
- Strong CAD design experience for mechanical and electromechanical systems
- Proficiency in one or more of the following CAD tools: SolidWorks, Fusion 360, AutoCAD, Creo
- Hands-on experience using Altium MCAD CoDesigner
- Experience performing Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
- Proven capability in stress analysis and structural validation
- Experience analyzing PCB and enclosure torsional rigidity
- Experience performing shock and vibration (shock & vibe) analysis
- Experience with thermal analysis for electronic systems.
