About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead, coach, and develop a team of outside sales representatives across the Northeast region.
- Drive revenue growth through customer retention, account expansion, and new business development initiatives.
- Establish regional sales objectives and performance expectations aligned with company goals.
- Conduct regular field visits, ride-alongs, and coaching sessions to support sales effectiveness and professional development.
- Monitor sales performance, pipeline activity, and forecasting metrics to ensure achievement of regional targets.
- Partner with sales representatives on strategic customer opportunities, negotiations, and key account growth initiatives.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Category Management, Operations, and Customer Service teams to support customer success and business growth.
- Ensure effective use of CRM tools, sales processes, and reporting systems to improve visibility and forecasting accuracy.
- Recruit, onboard, train, and develop sales talent while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Promote a strong commitment to safety, compliance, customer service, and operational excellence throughout the region.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Technical Science, Chemistry, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of successful sales experience with a demonstrated track record of revenue growth and customer relationship management.
- Previous sales leadership, team lead, or people management experience preferred.
- Experience coaching, developing, and motivating sales professionals to achieve performance goals.
- Strong understanding of consultative selling and solution-based sales strategies.
- Proven ability to analyze sales data, pipeline metrics, and market trends to drive business decisions.
- Strong business acumen with an understanding of manufacturer, distributor, and end-user relationships.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and CRM platforms such as Salesforce.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to travel throughout the Northeast region and maintain strong customer and employee engagement.
