Manage multiple technology projects of varying size simultaneously.
Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, milestone, schedule, budget, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
Maintain and update financial forecasts to ensure estimates are timely and accurate.
Collaborate with business areas to ensure project resources are available and able to complete project tasks, as well as identifying and mitigating barriers to task completion.
Coordinate with the Business Analyst and stakeholders to define project objectives, requirements, and success criteria.
Establish clear communication channels to keep stakeholders informed of project progress and milestones.
Collaborate with vendors to understand solution capabilities, implementation requirements, and timelines.
Negotiate contracts, service level agreements (SLAs), and pricing terms with vendors to ensure alignment with organizational goals and budget constraints.
Manage vendor relationships, including issue resolution, performance monitoring, and contract compliance.
Ensure vendor solutions are evaluated to ensure alignment with business needs, technical standards, and regulatory requirements in the electric utility sector.
Work closely with internal IT teams to assess integration points, data migration strategies, and infrastructure requirements.
Ensure technical guidance and support is provided to project teams during implementation and post-implementation phases.
Identify potential risks and dependencies associated with vendor solution implementations, and develop mitigation plans to address them.
Facilitate identification of risks and dependencies tied to the project, track risks, and develop mitigation plans to address them.
Oversee quality assurance assessments to verify that deliverables meet established standards and specifications.
Monitor project performance to proactively address deviations from project goals.
Facilitate organizational change management processes to minimize disruption and maximize user adoption of new vendor solutions.
Ensure training programs are developed and materials to educate end-users on the features, functionalities, and best practices associated with implemented solutions.
Establish post-implementation support and guidance to end-users to address system-related issues and optimize usage efficiency.
Gather and maintain project documentation.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field required.
Project Manager I –Minimum 3 years of IT Project Management or related field experience required.
Project Manager II – Minimum 5 years of IT Project Management experience, with a focus on vendor solution implementations required, with advanced project management certifications (e.g., PMP or Lean Six Sigma, etc.) preferred or to be pursued within 12 months.
Project Manager III – Minimum 10 years of IT Project Management experience, with a focus on vendor solution implementations, experience with complex projects and advanced project management certifications (e.g., PMP or Lean Six Sigma, etc.) required.
Experience mentoring or leading team members preferred.
Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies, such as Agile, Waterfall, and PMBOK.
Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to multitask, prioritize assignments, and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal skills.
Electric utility experience a plus.
